During the archival processing of the Cheney Files, archivists
discovered that President Ford Committee weekly reports 3 and 4
were missing from the collection. In 1990, the Ford Library
staff located the missing reports in the President Ford
Committee Records (Robert Visser Files, Political Affairs
Subject File, "Weekly Reports - PFC") and made these copies in
order to complete the set in the Cheney Files.

BO CALLAWAY
SUBJECT:
WEEKLY REPORT #3 - WEEK ENDING 7/26
ORGANIZATION - Effective July 28, Lee Nunn will be on
board full-time in the capacity of Director of Organization.
His duties will include developing the political organization,
touching base with key Republican leaders throughout the
country, assimilating "intelligence," and serving as the
liaison with the Finance Committee.
John Grenier, as a special assistant on a volunteer, expenses
paid basis, will begin making key calls in the southern area,
particularly among former Goldwater supporters.
ADVISORY COMMITTEE - Anne Armstrong has agreed to be a member
of the Committee. Also, Max Fisher has been officially
asked by Dean Burch, which apparently was initiated at the
request of the President. An updated list is attached.
CHUCK PERCY - I met with Chuck Percy and Doug Bailey on
Thursday, 7/24. Chuck has indicated he wants to make
available background information that the Deardorff/Bailey
firm researched for him, although this material was not
turned over to me. Bailey spent time going over their concept
for the organization and emphasized the importance to deter-
mine a specific program and strategy early. They are to get
back to me with a proposal for the firms involvment.
STATE COMMITTEES
ILLINOIS - I met with Harold Smith last week. He and
Don Adams, Republican State Chairman, are setting up a
tentative schedule for me to meet with Republican leaders in
Illinois in mid-August.
