MEMORANDUM FOR:
THE PRESIDENT
FROM:
BRENT SCOWCROFT
B
SUBJECT:
Meetings with Foreign Heads of
State/Government
You asked for a comparison of your record in meeting with other Heads
of State/Government versus that of past Presidents. A statistical break-
down is at Tab A.
Basically, the table at Tab A reflects that during your first 24 months
in office you met with more Heads of State or Government (124) than
any other President for which records have been kept (over a two year
period). Second place goes to President Johnson who, during the period
August 1966 - July 1968, met with 122 counterparts.
