Dear Mrs. Ford,
I have checked into why Warner VonBraun was not on
the German guest list and I have been given the following
information by the German desk at State Department:
1.
Mr. VonBraun was on the guest list for the
most recent German State visit which was
May 17, 1973 when Brandt was given a State
Dinner.
2.
Mr. VonBraun is now retired from NASA;
therefore, he would not come under the
government category -- he is now a
consultant for a private firm which does
not deal with Germany.
Also, Mary Lou and Sonny Whitney have not been invited
to the White House during the Ford Administration.
Thank you.
