On September 7 you gave me copies of an article which appeared
in the Buffalo Courier Express on September 4 regarding H.
Kenneth Schroeder, Jr., a candidate under consideration for a
Federal judgeship. The article questioned the man's ethics in
connection with a particular business transaction.
I have discovered that he is one of two candidates for this
particular position. I have forwarded copies of the article
to the appropriate official in the Justice Department who
reviews all background materials concerning candidates for
Federal judgeships. He will look into the matter and consider
it in connection with the possible appointment.
