Discussion
The basic authority of the Export Administration Act,
which is administered by the Department of Commerce and
authorizes certain controls over exports from the United States,
expired on June 30, 1974. This authority was temporarily
extended by an earlier resolution until July 30, 1974 to pro-
vide Congress with further time to consider extension of the
Act and any necessary amendments. Since Congress has not
completed this latter effort, the present resolution provides
for a further temporary extension until September 30, 1974.
