GF should stay home til US gets a VP. Concern, college students
are eligible for food stamps when a mother w/ several children
isn't eligible.
Against relaxation of marijuana possession and no charges being
lodged against the offender.
Appalled Saxbe doesn't want US to have counter-intelligence
measures against enemies.
Indiscret of Saxbe to divulge secret info on counter-intelligence
matters.
Angry GF didn't get rid of Brown before leaving for Japan.
Against Rocky's abortion stand and concern over Goldberg book.
Angry at USG. Whereeever this family turns, there are govt controls.
They can't get a decent price on milk and cattle because of govt
controls. Also, can't switch to a different electric or oil co.
to get lower pricing because of govt regs. Said one has to be on
welfare before they can get any help. Also, anti NR, for "How can
he see the needs of the average citizen?" Anti gas tax.
Complaint from a 3rd yr. law student who's a prosecuting intern
in Montgomery County that 30-40% of his case load is w/ small
marijuana offenders. It's rare that any of these return for similar
offense. He agrees w/ the Justice stance on not reporting pot pot
offenders who possess only a small amount. Also, atleast 1/2 of his
cases involves blacks in a county only 5-10% black. As well, a small
no. of policemen keep bringing in the pot offenders. Happy to see
this 1st step from Justice in decriminalization.
GF's likeable but not doing a good job. He hasn't done anything
about inflation. "He's not biting the bullet but sucking on a
lollipop.'
If GF vetos vets benefits, man will switch to Dem.
Hopes GF vetos Freedom of Info Act; it's going too far toward
anarchism.

RN conspired w/ the media to take over the US. Am. people won't
stand for this and there will be civil disobedience the likes of
which the US has never seen!
What would have happened If Brown had said these things about
WASP Michigan football players? Brown should be removed.
Is Saxbe working for Russia?
Disappointed GF didn't grant additional food aid. $350M wouldn't
make a difference to US but it would to other starving nations.

Disturbed about grain sale to Syria. Why are we supporting both

Brown deserves a medal. Brown shouldn't have apologized. The media

Support Brown; he's courageous and was proved right.
Upset over the pay increase the Hill wants to give themselves.
It's crucitying the US and is as tho the Hill wants the US to
crash. GF better get on them and straighten them out. Pro balanced
budget. GF better do it fast and NOW!
Donut shop owner in Tulsa, Okla. noted the price of sugar has
quadrupled in the past yr. They can't afford to charge customers
in accordance to the price raise of sugar or they'll lose their
customers. He noted glazes and icings are the main thing in pastries
and the donut shops will just have to close down. (100 lb. bag 1 yr.
ago cost $15,80; now it's $67.00.)
Upset GF refers to the US people as "Americans" sted of people
of United States. "Hawaiins aren't American's". And what about the
people in Central Am, or S. Am. or Canada? "They are American's!
But they aren't people of the US!"
A Marn, Mich. farmer can't get a Farmers Home loan because FHA
doesn't have any money available right now. And, the banks won't
loan farmers money because the interest rates are too high. Yet
GF said the farmers should produce more. How can they when they
can't get the money to do it? He wants the family farmers to be
accommodated by further loans from someone.
Cut out food stamps. There's no reason for anyone anywhere in world
to be hungry. The poor countries should grow food on their land.
Ofcourse, altho there should be enough food, we can't afford to
buy it.
GF should stop Sirica from harassing RN; the doctors shouldn't be
examing RN. "I have faith GF can do something about it."
Brown is free to voice his opinion. Would like to see more criticism
by the people in military circles. Jewish lobby is extremely strong.
Can't ignore the Arabs.
Inflation concern. We're taxed on top of taxes! If we don't do
anything, we're going to lose our country.
GF's asking the poor to save more and eat less. The poor doesn't
have the money to save and it's not fair.
Re: Nessen comment on GF accomplishing in 3 mos. what it took RN

Opposed to GF's attitude toward Gen. Brown.
Against GF not including Scoop Jackson in trip briefing w/ the
other Hill leaders. GF can't face someone w/ a different opinion.
Con antitrust action w/ AT&T. It came at an especially bad time
with inflation.
Concerned that nothing is happening w/ the Seabed legis. Caller
noted that when the oil scum volume becomes too dense, we won't
be able to breath because the oxygen supply will be reduced.
Re: inflation; GF should tell the US not to be afraid. Fear is
our problem. People who have the means to spend, should.
Felt Nessen's remarks on the summit were in poor taste. Who does
he think laid the ground work on the USSR summits and arms
control? The MD's who went to examine RN were harassing RN.
GF should reverse his previous statement about being thrifty
and tell US they should buy. Too many auto workers are jobless.
If we stop unemployment, it will "help the economy". GF should
say he made a mistake. I love GF and BF.
It's a terrible mistake GF vetoed the vets educ. bill.
Caller suggested each person put in 1 hr. extra daily w/out pay
for a 2 mos. period. "Our main problem is productivity."
"Vets should have priority over foreigners." Caller is ashamed
of GF turning down the vets bill. But, she supports GF and
says he's a fine man.
Mad at veto on vets bill. Without an education the vets will
be "dummies" and it will hurt the economy more than if the
pay increase were originally given.
Concern over lay-offs at Ford. Also, interest on savings accounts
should be tax exempt rather than those who borrow money being
able to take it off their taxes. Make people save rather than
spend. And, relax emission and safety standards on auto.
GF can forget it in '76 since he didn't sign vets benefits.
Altho GF was probably right on the fiscal problem w/ the vets
legis, the vets are disappointed, disallusioned and really
turned-off.
Vets bill wouldn't be inflationary as the GI's will be educated,
seek employment and pay more taxes.

Disturbed about US grain policies forthe world. We should help

GF should stay in US and take care of inflation problem.
Complaint over GF's veto of vets bill. If GF were in trouble,

MISC. COMMENTS Re: Butz
Butz' remark deeply offended the Ital-Ams and was an insult to
the Pope.
If Butz' isn't removed, GF won't get man's vote next time in '76.
B is highly insensitive. Remarks were crude. Hope GF has enough
courage and integrity to dismiss the long overdue RN appointees
in the Cabinet. Admire GF. Remarks offensive to Catholics.
Would hate for GF to censure B. Woman heard the same joke on the
Johnny Carson show this week.
GF should back Butz and should have backed Brown. The idea of making
a big thing of every comment someone makes is bad. The media is
terrible because it puts a slant on all such statements.
B should watch his comments. Resign.
B should be off the payroll.
Regrets B' mocking remark. It was very insulting to all parties
concerned. GF should meet w/ a Catholic ethnic group about bias
(ethnic) and the discrimination that's evident.
Resign. An apology isn't sufficient.
The matter is hilarious. I'm a Catholic and the Catholic Church
has been playing politics for centuries. B shouldn't apologize.
Con B. Her religious liberty has been violated by Butz being in
office, Rocky's nomination and 3 fed. judges in Wisc. which
ruled that non-distribution of contraceptives is unconstitutional.
She doesn't want to pay for abortions out of her tax money.
B remarks were snide.
B insulted the Catholics and it was demoralizing as a human being.
Agree w/ Butz on the Pope's statement. In full accord w/ B. Hopes
GF will back B up.
It's not B' perogative to make a comment on religion. It was stupid.
And, anything in the internat'l arena should be left to HAK.
Remarks were an insult to Catholics, the Pope, and Italians. Remove,
him for blatant prejudice. It's a disgrace when he conducts
himself as a blatant moron. GF should give the extra grain to

B ridiculed the Pope. Remove. Feed the poor. GF Admin. is anti
Catholic w/ Rocky, Butz, and HEW money spent on abortions.
Protest B mimicking the Pope. B should apologize.
Keep B. Glad to see him stay if he wants to.
B remarks were out of order. B and GF have got to go. An apology
isn't enough.
B has a perfect right to his opinion. GF shouldn't reprimand him
or make him apologize. The Ital-Am community better grow up;
they can't joke about themselves. They get all bent out of shape.
The only mature groups in the US are the Jews and the Texans. They
laugh at themselves.
A Catholic agreed w/ B and said the Pope has an unrealistic point
of view about birth control and abortion.
If B doesn't apologize in public, then people will say things
about the Catholics and get away with it altho people wouldn't
dare say anything about Blacks. GF showed loss of rights and respect
for Catholics by nominating NR.
B is worse than Brown. If Butz spoke w/ a Negro accent, they'd
hang him.
We should be concerned w/ birth control. The US isn't a bottomless
bread basket. Support B.
Irate!!!!!
B was very insensitive. Comment was in poor taste. GF should act.
Reprimand isn't enough.
GF shouldn't censure B for what he said. He hit the nail on the
head. He has a right to say what he thinks. If the shoe fits,
the Pope should wear it. People should help themselves.
Very, very disappointed in GF and his Admin. Fire B. "I'm sick
of this kind of govt.' If GF doesn't get on the ball, he won't
be the next Pres.
Morale is low enough in the US w/out this remark against the Pope.
Apologize or resign.
It's a lot of commotion about nothing.
I don't think B was intentionally being disrespectful but trying
to get across a point. I'm sure he accepted and respected the
Pope's comments at the food conf. But, since the US is philanthropic,
those nations receiving our aid should atleast be philanthropic
in word, if not in deed to attempt to do their part.
p. 3 re: Butz remark comments
11/29/74
Commend GF's action towards B. But, B should resign since he
made this comment, handled the USSR grain deal and other snafu's.
100% for Butz and GF. Women is Catholic, but said remark was
taken in the wrong way. Pope should get "more modern".
GF's disgusting if he keeps B. He's incompetent to keep people
who worked for an incompetent Pres. (RN.). B. should resign.
B should be fired. USG has no right to interfere w/ religion
or vice versa.
Am behind B. Birth control is the only sensible remark B has
ever made. The world will only feed so many people. As a farmer,
he and many others are sick and tired of feeding people who sit
around and have babies.
B is doing a pretty good job in helping the farmers and he
understands them. Farmer from Springfield, Ill.
B made a slur on the Pope. Resign.
If GF censures Butz or requires an apology from him, then I'll
(Pastor, of the Grand Rapids, Mich. Penticostal Church) campaign
against GF in '76. B has as much a right to say what he thinks
as does the Pope or Catholics.
Protest B. Never considered him able for Ag Secy. GF and Admin.
has gotten her last vote if she doesn't hear more than a
white-washing apology.
B is stupid, unreligious and un-American. Fire him NOW!!!
Disturbed over comment. Fire.
GF shouldn't ask B to apologize. We shouldn't have to apologize
to the world when it's the truth.
Sick and disgusted GF called B "on the carpet". We're not under
the Pope. We're Americans. GF should apologize to B. Caller
won't vote for GF again. GF's for the millionaires and wealthy.
B insulted the 45% US Catholics and 92% of the Catholics in N. Am.
He degraded the Catholics. It was a stupid episode; unforgiveable.
Catholic woman said she in no way took B' remarks as derogatory
