I'M ESPECIALLY PLEASED TO RENEW MY ACQUAINTANCE
WITH MARGARET BROCK.
MARGARET HAS BEEN ONE OF THE GUIDING
LIGHTS OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY FOR MANY YEARS.
SHE APPROPRIATELY HAS BEEN CALLED "MRS. REPUBLICAN OF
CALIFORNIA."

BUT SHE IS MUCH MORE THAN AN OUTSTANDING REPUBLICAN.
SHE HAS BEEN A GREAT ADVOCATE -- AND A GREAT ACTIVIST -- IN A
WIDE VARIETY OF CIVIC AND CHARITABLE CAUSES.
NO CAUSE IS DEARER TO HER HEART THAN PEPPERDINE
UNIVERSITY AND ITS WONDERFUL STUDENT BODY.

SHE SPENDS A GREAT DEAL OF HER TIME WITH STUDENTS --
MAYBE THAT'S WHAT KEEPS HER so YOUNG -- AND SHE TAKES A
PERSONAL INTEREST IN EACH OF THEM.

ON MANY OCCASIONS, WHEN AN IMPORTANT NATIONAL
FIGURE IS IN THIS AREA FOR A SPEAKING ENGAGEMENT, I UNDERSTAND
MARGARET WILL PURCHASE TICKETS FOR A TABLE AT THE EVENT AND FILL
IT WITH STUDENTS WHO OTHERWISE MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND.

I ALSO UNDERSTAND SHE HAS ESTABLISHED A SPECIAL FUND
TO HELP PROMISING STUDENTS WHO NEED FINANCIAL AID TO COMPLETE
THEIR EDUCATION HERE AT PEPPERDINE.
MARGARET BROCK IS A REMARKABLE WOMAN.
I KNOW
HOW PLEASED SHE MUST BE TO SEE THIS BEAUTIFUL HOME COME TO LIFE
WITH BILL AND GAY AND THE FOUR BOYS.
