Dear Miss Dunbar,
Thank you for your letter of 22 September
suggesting a responsible interview with
Mrs. Ford. I tried to ring you today as I
am going off on holiday for a couple of
weeks, but without success.
we would very much like to see an article
along the lines you suggest if you succeed
in seeing Mrs. Ford. As you know, we don't
commission, but would be most interested
in an interview/profile feature. I shall
be back here on October 13.
Yours sincerely,

Ms. Patty Matson
Room 2102

Dear Ms. Matson:
In regard to our telephone conversation today, I would like to reemphasize our desires to
be able to d an interview with Mrs. Gerald Ford during her visit on behalf of the Inter-
national Women's Year Congress this Saturday, October 25.
I have made arrangements for our portable minicam videotape unit to be available for the
entirety of Mrs. Ford's visit. While I understand from you that Mrs. Ford has requested
that she not be scheduled to do any private interviews, I would hope that she might recon-
sider in this case. Since we are a network owned and operated station, we will be doing
taping not only for our ninety-minute special program that will air this Sunday, October
26, but we will also be feeding news stories concerning Mrs. Ford's visit to the entire
network. Obviously, an opportunity to talk to the First Lady for only a few minutes
would mean more exposure.
I would even be willing to take the minicam unit to the airport and videotape something
with her upon her arrival, en route to downtown Cleveland in her limousine, or any location
at any time that would be convenient to the First Lady.
Attached is a list of the personnel, their positions and Social Security numbers, that I would
have with me on Saturday. I understand that you need this information for proper Secret
Service clearance.
Again, as I mentioned during our telephone conversation, please call me at your convenience
and I will be glad to stop by to give you any assistance that I can in making plans for Mrs.
Ford's visit. Thank you.
Sincerely,
a.H.H Albert Fisher
