NOTICE TO THE PRESS
The President today announced the appointment of two persons to
serve as Senior United States Commissioner and United States
Commissioner, respectively, on the South Pacific Commission for
a term of two years:
Stanley S. Carpenter, of Arlington, Virginia;
Deputy Assistant Secretary for Territorial Affairs,
in the Department of Interior. He succeeds William
B. Taylor, III, whose term expired.
Aaron G. Marcus, of Honolulu, Hawaii; he was
initially appointed in 1970.
