NOTICE TO THE PRESS
The President has signed H.R. 7136 - the Special Supplemental Food
Program for Women, Infants and Children, which extends from July 1,
1975 through September 30, 1975 the Special Supplemental Food Program
for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) authorized under the Child
Nutrition Act.
The President has signed S. 326 - Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands,
which increases the fiscal year 1975 appropriation authorization ceiling
for civil government activities of the Trust Territory of the Pacific
Islands and authorizes certain funds for planning the transition to com-
monwealth status for the Mariana Islands District of the Trust Territory.
The President has signed H. R. 4269 - the Increase Allowances for
Congressional Delegates from Guam and the Virgin Islands, which
authorizes the delegates to the House of Representatives from Guam
and the Virgin Islands to receive the same clerk hire and travel
allowances as are received by Members of the House of Representatives.
The President has vetoed H. R. 5 357 which would authorize appropriations
totalling $98,125,000 to the Secretary of Commerce for the promotion
of tourist travel. (VETO STATEMENT AVAILABLE SEPARATELY)
The President today proclaimed that imports entering into the U.S.
Customs territory during the months of February through May 1975 will
be $1 per barrel. He also proclaimed that imports entering in the month
of June 1975 and thereafter will be $1.40 per barrel. (PROCLAMATION
AVAILABLE SEPARATELY)
The President today proclaimed the week beginning June 8, 1975 as National
Flag Week and called upon the appropriate officials of the government
to display the national flag on all government buildings during that week.

The White House today in Washington issued a statement by the President
paying tribute to the late General George A. Lincoln for his dedicated
