Digitized from Box 13 of the White House Press Releases at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library
JULY 12, 1975
Office of the White House Press Secretary
(Chicago, Illinois)
NOTICE TO THE PRESS
1. Press Pool #3 has been cancelled. The Air Force One Pool from Chicago
to Traverse will act as the pool for everything from the end of the press
conference to the arrival at Traverse. That pool will depart 15 minutes after
the end of the press conference.
2. Press bus #1 will leave the hotel at the same time as the motorcade.
Anyone on press bus #1 should be ready to leave 15 minutes after the end of
the press conference.
3. In order to have more time for filing after the press conference the second
bus will not depart until 1:15 instead of 12:45 as it is listed in the bible.
HOWEVER it is important that everyone be ready to leave the hotel for the C.S.U.
speech at 1:15.
4. For those of you who remember Cincinnati.
let me say that it is
VERY IMPORTANT that everyone except those on Air Force One Pool leave
immediately upon conclusion of Presidential remarks.
5. We will give out excerpts from tomorrow morning's speech on the airplane
this afternoon. These are only notes that the President has reviewed in
preparation for that speech and the speech will be given from talking points.
6. NOW FOR THE PROCEDURES WE WILL FOLLOW DURING THE
PRESS CONFERENCE:
Neil Mehler of the Chicago Tribune will have the first question. A list of
people drawn for questions today and the order has been posted. Carl Leubsdorf.
Associated Press will say "Thank you" when he considers it appropriate.
The follow-up procedures will be in effect - but let's be sure and keep the follow-up
on the same subject as the first question.
