NOTICE TO THE PRESS
The President's Schedule
The President came to the Oval Office at 7:45 a.m. today for meetings
with staff members.
At 10:00 a.m. the President will hold his second office meeting with
Prime Minister Takeo Miki of Japan. (PHOTO)
At 12 noon the President will sign into law H.R. 6219, To Amend Voting
Rights Act of 1965, in a ceremony in the Rose Garden. (OPEN COVERAGE)
Inclement weather site is the Cabinet Room (POOL COVERAGE).
At 2:00 this afternoon the President will hold another of his regular
meetings with Vice President Rockefeller.
At 5:00 p.m. Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare, Caspar
Weinberger will pay a farewell call on the President. Secretary Weinberger
is returning to California. His successor, Dr. David Mathews, will be
sworn in on Friday.

Fact sheet on the Voting Rights Act Amendments (H.R. 6219), embargoed
until 12 noon. (RELEASE)
A proclamation removing quantitative restrictions on imports of live cattle,
pork and hogs from Canada. (RELEASE and explanatory POSTING)
Supplemental appropriations request for FY 76 and the transition period
totaling $20,400,000 for the Department of the Treasury. (LETTER TO THE
