FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DECEMBER 24, 1975
OFFICE OF THE WHITE HOUSE PRESS SECRETARY
(Vail, Colorado)
QUESTION AND ANSWER SESSION
BY THE PRESIDENT
GONDOLA NO. 1
VAIL, COLORADO
1:26 P.M. MST
THE PRESIDENT: Who do we get, Ann today? (Laughter)
QUESTION: How was it?
THE PRESIDENT: Great, perfect, excellent.
People don't know what they are missing.
QUESTION: How are the skiing conditions?
THE PRESIDENT: Excellent, really. The sun was
wonderful, the snow was good and I fell down once.
QUESTION: What caused that?
THE PRESIDENT: Carelessness. (Laughter)
It was the easiest part of the slope.
QUESTION: What are you going to be doing on
Christmas Day?
THE PRESIDENT: Skiing, opening presents, having
a good time with the family.
QUESTION: How do you feel about the criticism --
or some of your aides have suggested that this is not
politicly good for you to come out and being seen frolicking
on the Rockies.
THE PRESIDENT: I see an awful lot of nice people out
here and I think an awful lot of Americans are spending
time with their family, as we are, so I would do it because
of that. Political consequences? I really haven't
thought about it.
QUESTION: Do you think it has any political
consequences?
THE PRESIDENT: I think it's a plus rather than a
minus.
It is real nice to see you all.

QUESTION: Have you talked to Secretary Dunlop?
There is lots of confusion about this on whether or not
you have talked with him.
THE PRESIDENT: I talked to him the day I
decided to veto.
QUESTION: What is his status? Is he presently
thinking about resigning?
THE PRESIDENT: I haven't talked to him.
Bye, everybody.
THE PRESS: Thank you.
