POOL REPORT
President's Return From Today's Skiing
As he skied up to the waiting press, the President said, "It is getting
better and better. We had a long day." He said it: was the longest he
had skied in any one day this year and he said that the spill he took
was done on purpose so the cameramen and photographers would have
something.
This conversation took place just outside the Dick Bass residence and
the President talked briefly with Mr. Bass before going inside to work
on material that came today by courier from Washington.
Mr. Bass was willing to talk with reporters and commented on the
President's fall saying "If you're not falling, you're not learning."
Mr. Bass explained he is trading homes with the President and he
is very glad to do it. He explained that his home works out much
better for security reasons and rpovides space for staff meetings.
He gave this description of his home. "There's three main floors
with a loft on top of that. And there are six bedrooms, there are
two living rooms. " Mr. Bass said this about the President "I think
the world of him. I am very proud and glad he is our President. "
