NOTICE TO THE PRESS
The President today announced the appointment of two persons as members
of the Committee for Purchase from the Blind and Other Severely Handicapped.
They are:
Veterans Administration Member
Clyde Cook, of Alexandria, Virginia, Director, Supply Service,
Veterans Administration, Washington, D. C. He succeeds Donald
P. Whitworth who resigned effective July 31, 1975.
Department of the Army Member
Brigadier General Fred C. Sheffey, of Annandale, Virginia, United
States Army, Director of Supply, United States Army Material Command,
Alexandria, Virginia. He succeeds Eivind Johansen who resigned effec-
tive July 18, 1975.
The Committee was established to direct procurement of selected commodities
and services of the Federal Government to qualified nonprofit agencies serving
blind and other severely handicapped individuals with the objective of increasing
employment opportunities for these individuals.
