POOLREPORT #1
On departure' from the speech site' the President stopped briefly at
Jefferson's Tomb. The President moved up the stairs to the tomb by
himself and paused for a brief period of time paying his respects
before he was joined by Governor Mills Godwin, Senator Harry Byrd,
and ARBA Administrator John Warner. They paid their respects as a
group and paused in conversation for about 5 minutes prior to departure
en route the President's helicopter. Marine One lifted off at 12:30 p.m.
without incident.
