NOTICE TO THE PRESS
President Ford telephoned former President Nixon late this afternoon at
the Long Beach Memorial Hospital in Long Beach, California, and spoke
for about 7 minutes. The President asked how Mrs. Nixon was doing.
He wished her a speedy recovery on behalf of himself and Mrs. Ford and
asked the former President to relay to Mrs. Nixon his best wishes.
The President offered whatever help Mrs. Nixon might need, and he
asked the former President to keep him informed about Mrs. Nixon's
condition.
