NOTICE TO THE PRESS
The President today announced the appointment of five persons as
members of the National Advisory Council on the Education of Disadvantaged
Children for a term expiring September 15, 1979. They are:
John Calhoun, of Maryland, Special Assistant to the President
and Director for Media Relations, The White House. He succeeds
Alonzo Crim whose term has expired.
Barbara Greene Kilberg, of Virginia, Associate Counsel to the
President, The White House. She succeeds
John R. Leopold, of Hawaii, State Senator, Honolulu, Hawaii.
He succeeds Elaine Jenkins whose term has expired.
Marvin A. Pomerantz, of Iowa, President, Mid-America Development
Company, Des Moines, Iowa. He succeeds Carlos Romero-Barcero
whose term has expired.
M. Alan Woods, of Missouri, Assistant Secretary of Defense (Public
Affairs), Washington, D.C. He succeeds Alma Barba whose term has
expired.
