Gerald R. Ford used this Jerusalem Bible given to him by his son, Mike, for both his Vice Presidential and Presidential swearing-in ceremonies. The Bible features a black cover, white pages with gold leaf trim, and a red ribbon bookmark.
The binder contains typewritten pages, along with two tabs marking “Tab I Strategy Details” and “Tab II Background Papers.” The Vail Strategy resulted from a series of meetings between President Ford and his campaign staff after the Republican National Convention. The strategy formulated focused on how to beat Jimmy Carter in the general election.
This item was made for Gerald R. Ford’s 1976 presidential campaign. A Bicentennial pin featuring the official Bicentennial logo is attached to the sticker.
In this top hat, the smaller text reads, “Paid for by President Ford Committee, Rogers C. B. Morton, Chairman, Robert C. Moot, Treasurer.” It was worn by Gerald R. Ford’s delegates during the 1976 Republican National Convention.
This item was designed and manufactured by A. Dean Watkins Co. and features a stars and stripes motif glasses frame and circular pendants suspended from chains depicting a portrait of President Ford.
