We may be assured the President will make no compromises and no appeasements with evil forces in the world. He is not that kind of a man. His purpose is to bring peace and protect freedom with all the power at his disposal. Our experience with Soviet fidelity to many promises has been disappointing. We must not be lulled into any complacency. We must be on the alert and armed to the teeth. The American people should extend our traditional courtesy to a leader of another government. And we may hope from his visit he will realize that the real power of the American people is not their economic strength, but their vital forces of religious faith, their devotion to freedom and to the ideals which sprang into power on this continent centuries ago.
