By direction of the President I send you the
enclosed letter and accompanying papers from Senator
Heyburn in behalf of Mr. Robert N. Dunn for appointment
as register of the Coeur d' Alene Land Office.
The President requests that these papers be called
to his attention in case of Col. Budlong's resigna-
tion.
