Dear Cousin Bess:
Your nice note arrived today and it was fine to
hear from you. Margo and I hope that you are enjoying
good health.
I have been intending to write to you before,
however, I have been out of the office almost continuously
in the past weeks and my correspondence has suffered
accordingly.
Although under very trying circumstances, it
was good to be able to see and talk to you and Margaret
following the funeral services. I was quite concerned about
you knowing of all you had gone through.
Again, I want to say how wonderfully the service
was conducted in its most dignified manner -- the best that
has ever been performed.
On February 16th, I was asked to accept a
Certificate of Appreciation, on your behalf concerning a
live oak tree that was planted that day at the Georgia
Welcome Center, which is located on U. S. Highway I-20
on the outskirts of Augusta, Georgia.
