CRILONOTEL December 21, 1951 Dear Mr. President: I imagine as I am only golog to be home from the morning of the 22nd until the afternoon of the 3lst, that you will be in Independence and not anxious to see me. You know, of course, that if you want to see = I could arrange to come to Washington, Friday afternoon the 28th. I can be resched on the telephone at Eyde Park where I will be from the 23rd or early sorning on the 24th until the afternoon of the 26th. Then I will be in New York until the late afternoon of the 28th. My telephone in Hyde Park, is Poughreepsie 959, and in New York City it is Circle 7-7272. Then I will be in Hyde Park until the morning of the 3lst when I leave for Paris. I - very codecious of the responsibility which has fallen on my shoulders but I can assure you it is not reelly very heavy, for the representstives of the State Department - Dr. Jessup, Xr. Sendifer, Ambression Gross of the OS Mission and other members of the delegation with their steffe are doing the really important work. We are deprived of Ambes- sador Austin's friendships with the heeds of delegstions here who cotte from the permenent groups in New York and I en sorry that I do not feel thet I can make up for that constant contect which he had. but I se doing ay best and I bope when the finel report is in you will feel sstisfied. It is still ny belief that we should do as Xe.
