CONFIDENTIAL -2- employees; that they were top officials; that Mr. Peurifoy had removed both of them from their positions here and had sent them abroad to France or Germany. He said he had reference to Bohlen and Thayer, who were related in some way; that Bohlen had secured Thayer's appointment as head of the Voice of America. He was asked if he had evidence of homosexuality on the part of these men and he said he had nothing definite, that they were suspects only, but it would be easy to obtain the evidence on them. In our conversation Blick stated there is need in this NARA country for a central bureau for records of homosexuals and perverts of all types and that if he were chosen as the head of such a bureau it would be his plan to have the files avail- able to all government agencies, state and city police officials.
