Dear Mr. Secretary:
Reference is made to our conversa-
tion with Mr. James Hard, Director of Personnel,
regarding the request made by the Senate Investi-
gations Subcommittee investigating the employment
of homosexuals in agencies of the Government.
After a conference with Senator Hoey, Chairman of
the Subcommittee, on June 29, at which the request
by your department and other similar requests were
discussed, it was understood that the requests
could be disregarded for the time being. As soon
as the Subcommittee has and established its
procedures and policies, the matter will be con-
sidered further.
With best wishes,
Very sincerely yours,
DONALD S. DAISON
Administrative Assistant
to the President
Honorable John W. Snyder
The Secretary of the Treasury
