ARCHIVES SERVICE" 'NATIONAL RECORDS AND
S/S:
Mr. John Foster Dulles telephoned the Secretary from
New York to say he is very happy to accept the President's
invitation to attend the forthcoming meeting of the CFM in
Paris and he looks forward to the association and is hopeful
for good results.
Mr. Dulles said he feels there is need for "workman-like
procedures in the meetings" and he feels we "need to make a
fresh start". The Secretary told him he hopes to have an
opportunity to talk with him before they leave. Mr. Dulles
sayd he would like to get away from New York for a few days
rest early next week and that he could probably be here in
Washington Thursday and Friday.morning.
Mr. Dulles said he plans on Mrs. Dulles going along and
trusts this is all right. The Secretary assured him it is fine.
