a) The President has approved the release for 11 a.m.
Friday, August 5th.
b) He asked that we give a copy of his statement to
Mr. Clifford. Mr. Clifford is writing a letter from the President
to some persons on the Hill transmitting the report. The ques-
tion arises whether the proposed statement for the President
for relesse Thursday should or should not be the same as the
letter. I imagine that it should not on account of difficulties of
release. will someone please get in touch with Mr. Clifford
and work this problem out.
c) The President approved the attitude which we are taking
in regard to General Wedemeyer's questioning of the release
of "Eyes Only" telegrams.
