Memorandum of Telephone Conversation -
"NATIONAL AND
:
%ERVICE*
The Secretary telephoned Congressman Kee this morning
to thank him for his efforts in getting the MAP legislation
reported out of Committee. The Secretary expressed warm
appreciation of all the Congressman did in this regard.
The Congressman thanked the Secretary for calling and
said that the Secretary would find they didn't lose a dollar;
though it is in different form, it accomplishes the same thing.
He discussed at length the Committee's work until 11 p.m. last
night and said he hoped for as much success on the floor. He
said a minority report was filed this morning and that Vorys
plans to fight it on the floor, but in spite of this, he is hopeful
for as much success on the floor.
