When the Secretary spoke with Judge Kee on another
matter this morning, he tool occasion to mention his concern
over the proposal of Congressman Sabath to investigate Germany.
Judge Kee soid he had written Sabath yesterday, in reply
to a very troublesome one from him, that a number of represen-
tives of his Committee had visited Germany and are now preparing
their report, which he believes will be very helpful in considering
the matter. Judge Kee said he urged that the investigation be
delayed until this report is completed and has been considered.
The Secretary thanked Judge Kee for this support, and said
that it would be appreciated also by McCloy, who is having a bad
time of it in Germany.
