GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE 16-61120-1 At the close of his conversation with me this afternoon regarding the Moroccan situation, the French Ambassadcr left the attached aide memoire concerning the distribution of monetary gold by the commission in Brussels. The aide memoire was not discussed at all since I indicated that I was unfamiliar with the subject. M. Bonnet said that he would take it up with Mr. Thorp. In leaving, the Ambassador said that he assumed we might have some doubts about the French request since it would involve the payment of some gold to Czechoslovakia, but hoped that we would nonetheless give their request our sympathetic consideration.
