One other thing that I wanted to mention is that when we came back from
this meeting in Paris, at the press conference of June 23, 1949, I made
quite a long, extemporaneous statement to the press about my general
impressions of the conforence=what had hap pened and what had not happened--
and then drew some conc lusions from it, whic h beared a little on Mac
Bundy's questi ons as to whether these ob servati ons that we have made
