Summary of Documents Relating to Dr. Crain's Slides¹ In conjunction with the donation of Dr. Crain's original 1950 trip slides and digital copies of the same to the Truman Library, enclosed please find photocopies of various documents relating to the 1950 trip in which Dr. Crain was a participant. Tab One: Dr. Crain's travel orders dated April 12, 1950. [Handwritten notes on the document were made by Dr. Crain.] Tab Two: International Certificate of Inoculation and Vaccination dated April 5, 1950. Tab Three: Dr. Crain's Special Passport issued April 12, 1950. [Pages 20-48 are blank and were therefore not copied.] Tab Four: Log of Trip, April 15 - May 6, 1950, prepared by Dr. Crain. [Handwritten notes on the document were also made by Dr. Crain.] Tab Five: Handwritten letter dated April 24, 1950 from Dr. Crain in Riyadh to his wife, Louise Crain, in Washington, D.C. Tab Six: Undated, handwritten notes by Dr. Crain providing descriptions for his numbered "SA" (Saudi Arabia) slides. Tab Seven: Carbon copies of nine letters dated June 19 to August 1, 1950, in which Dr. Crain thanks various people for courtesies extended during the trip. Tab Eight: Correspondence between Dr. Crain and Bakur Abbas Khomais dated August 1, 1950 to January 5, 1951, including three letters written by Mr. Khomais and carbon copies of four letters written by Dr. Crain. 1 Summary prepared by Dr. Crain's granddaughter Alice Rollinson Makl in March 2016. Originals remain in the possession of Dr. Crain's granddaughter Amy Rollinson Ruberl as of that date.
