THE WHITE HOUSE WASHINGTON May 12, 1949 Dear Hinie: I appreciated very much your letter of the eighth. The milestones pile up quickly after you pass twenty-one but it is a long time until I get my release. However, I suppose it will roll by more quickly than we think. I wish I could have been at the Harpie Club to pass on the cooking of Mr. Dexter Perry. I imagine he did a pretty good job. Sincerely yours, Harry Honorable Edgar G. Hinde Postmaster United States Post Office Independence, Missouri glad Edgar was fixed up. life is a good toy.
