Aftor three weeks spent in Paris I arrived here and
found yourkind letter and. the splendid check for the war orphans
of the of Neufohatecu. I cannot tell you how
Grateful the Committee, UI which I am President, s's for the gen-
eroSity of the officers and men belonging to your splendid 35th
Division, ofter heving given by their courage and their energy in
the trenches a most successful cxemple of military offort, they
have the touching iden of helping the widows and orphans of our
unfortunate soldiers who fell on the front in defending; their soil.
The poople of Neufchatenu will never forget the
generosity I our Allies from Anerica and I ber you to thank all
those who ny their splendid gift will oneble our committee to
help the war orphons of the Arrondissoment.
I hope my dear General, I will soon hove the ploosure
of seein/ you here or in Peris (or in Washington), and with many
many thanks for all you have done for us, please believe me,
