Adjustment of 75mm Batteries Prial Fore.
The battery will fire one volley of shrapnel, (See page 17, Article 57,
Par, 5, begining "For light artillery the first salvos") The observer will send
the correction for deflection only. The correction being from the right of the
sheaf toithe right of the target.
The battery commander will then fire H. E. shell by salvos, each salvo
at the command "fire", from the observer. The observer will send correction
for each salvo. The correction for deflection will bein multiples of 25
meters and the correction for range in multiples of 50 meters. The correction
for deflection is from the right of the sheaf to the right of the target. The
correction for range is from the center of the impact (of salvos) to the center
of the target. (See page 17, article 57, Par. 1 begining "if the objective")
SERIES OF 24 ROUNDS.
The battery commander then may call for a series of 24 rounds. 24 rounds
are fired as quickly as possible. The observer reports correctionfor range.
The cent er of impact of the 24 rounds from the center of the target.
CONTINUOUS FIRE FOR EFFECT.
The battery commander calls for a continuous fire for effect if he so
desires, the obseryer watches the fire and makes corrections if necessary.
90's and 95's will be adjusted in the same manner as 75's.

Trial Fire.
Trial fire is shot by salvos) at 5 seconds intervals and corrections are
sent by the observer for range and deflection by piece. The correction being
sent after each salvo. The corrections are referred to the center of the
target. Range corrections are sent in multiples of 50 meters and d'eflection
corrections are sent in multiples of 25 meters. Trial fire is continued
until the proper bracket is obtained. The battery commander then calls for
amelioration fire. (See Art. 57 , Page 17, AO.F.A.)
AMELIORATION FIRE.
The battery fires salvos, the observer sending "fire", for each salvo.
The observer will send correction by piece after each salvo. (See Art. 64
Page 19, A.O.F.A.)
SERIES OF 24 ROUNDS.
A. series of 24 rounds is called for by the battery Commander. The Observer
reports the number of shorts, overs and targets.
CONTINUOUS FIRE FOR EFFECT.
The battery commander calls for continuous fire for effect if he wishes
further observation. (Article 68)
Observer watches fire and sends correction if necessary,
120's and all guns of large caliber are fired in the same manner as 155': S.
