MEMORANDUM;- To the Officer of the Day.
Beginning to-day and until further orders the Officer
of the Day will be required to viait each post, of each relief,
of the guard, between Retreat and Reveille. This will include
also all posts st the stables of Batteries D, El and F.
The Officer of the DAY will obtain from suoh Battery
Commander the posts, at his stables. The instructions to the
stable guard and where the corporal of the stable guurds is to
be found. This will in no wise relieve the Battery Commanders
from the responsibility aa to stable guards, but 19 merely for
the purpose of checking up on asme. Any failure on the part
of a stable guard to do hie full duty will be iumadiately
taken up with the battery commandez no matter at what hour, any
serious infringement the of be

immediately brought to the attention of the Battalion Commander.
The Officer of the Day will take every mouna in his
power to impress all men with the importance and dignityof the
position of a sentinel.
This order will be handed by each old Officer of the
Day
to the new Officer of the Day upon being relieved.
