INSTRUCTIONS
1. The instructions governing the preparation of pay rolls and final statements should be followed as far as practicable in the preparation of final payment rolls.
2. All officers, noncommissioned officers, and others that may be concerned in the preparation of this roll are enjoined to exercise every care that it be made complete.
It is not only the guide for immediate payment of the men interested, but, when filed in the Treasury Department, it will become the record to which reference will there-
after be made in the investigation and settlement of all claims or questions affecting the men whose names are borne on the roll, and their heirs, for the period covered by it.
3. Columns marked "Q. M." will be filled in by Quartermaster: columns marked " P1. A." will be filled in by officer preparing roll.
4. In column " Partial pay previously received" should be entered the total amounts previously received as partial pay only when soldier is credited on this pay roll
with payments in full from date to which last paid in full. When settlement is not made in full and soldier is credited with partial pay on this pay roll, such amount will
not be entered in this column.
