IRS N F o FL The Embassy transmits enclosed the text of a statement by John Myun CHANG, as released by the Republic of Korea Office of Public Infor- mation on April 3, 1951, on war objectives. The statement is of the same tenor as those of the President of the Republic reported in the telegrams referred to above; the main points are: 1. gratitude for help; 2. necessity to cease efforts which interfere with military efforts; 3. the sole objective of the war is the establishment of a united, independent and democratic Korea; 4. the Korean people cannot accept any decision dividing the country; 5. when the objective has been reached and Koreans adequately armed, they will themselves defend their country; 6.
