The Acting Representative of the United
States of America to the United Nations presents
his compliments to the Acting Secretary-General
of the United Nations and has the honor to
enclose for the information of the Secretary
General copies of communications addressed by
the Government of the United States on July 23,
1952, to the Government of the Union of Soviet
Socialist Republics and to the International
Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva, with a
view to obtaining the agreement of the North

Korean and Chinese Communist authorities to
apply the provisions of the Geneva Convention
