Dear Aunt Ella:
I certainly did appreciate the handker-
chief which you sent me for my birthday.
I really did have some birthday consider-
ing the cessation of hostilities in Europe,
and the fact that everybody I know seemed
to want to make me have a good day yesterday.
You had a birthday yourself the day before
and I did not even write you a letter. I
am sorry that I did not do it.
Give my best to the girls.
Sincerely yours,
Mrs. Joseph T. Noland
