In view of maritime strike it is essential to clear thru Adm
Cochrane of Maritime Board all emergency shipments.
ACHESON
Communists in France have lost several seats in yesterday's elec-
tion. They voted about 3 1/2 million which is not much decrease numeri-
cally. De Gaulle shows increase in strength.
Total 585 - 200 of these are Communists and De Gaullists, seats in
Parliament.
Russia still dragging feet on question of Big 4 meeting in Paris.
Iranian oil situation is still deadlocked.

Only 10% of E Bonds which came due in May have been cashed by holders
which is very encouraging.
