ACHESON
Developments in Iran are very bad. British made a generous offer
but it was turned down cold and Iran took over British oil property.
British may be forced to shut down refinery which employs 70,000
people - represents 25% of total national income. This will prob-
ably result in a revolution in Iran.
After 74 meetings in Paris the U. S. has cut off discussions with
the Deputies of Big 3 countries. . This was result of Soviet stalling
tactics.
CHAPMAN
Iran situation will cause need for reshuffling of our domestic
supply system as well as the need to supply our allies with their re-
quirements.
SAWYER
If airline strike goes forward Air Force will have to take over.
BRANNAN
Has 30 Senate signatures supporting administration sugar program.
Thinks we will get by in good shape.
