June 17, 1949.
My dear Mr. Clancy:
I am delighted with the report that you sent me under
date of June 14 with reference to the status of the pro-
posed 22nd amendment to the Federal Constitution as ex-
pressed by legislative ratifications and non-ratifications.
You have done a good job and I feel much more encouraged
than I did when this amendment was rushed through the
Congress with few people showing any interest in it.
I will act upon your suggestion to write a letter
to the President of the Massachusetts Senate, but I will
first want to get his name. I enclose a letter that I
am writing to William George Richards of Lockhart, Texas.
Sincerely yours,
Handliseks
Harold L Ickes.
Mr. Daniel Francis Clancy,
