Mr. Daniel Francis Clancy, Director

P.O. Box 322

Dear Mr. Clancy:
The Governor has referred to me
your letter of April 26, 1949, relative to
the proposed 22nd Amendment to the
Constitution of the United States.
At the present time the Legislature
of Alabama has taken no action on this pro-
posed amendment and so f 'ar as I can ascertain
there has been no concerted effort to bring
it to the attention of the Legislature.
The majority leader of the House of
Representatives of Alabama is Honorable John
Snodgrass, Scottsboro, Alabama, and the
majority leader of the Senate of Alabama is
Honorable J. Bruce Henderson, Miller's Ferry,
Alabama. Both of these gentlemen, I am sure,
will be glad to receive any information from
you concerning this question.
Very truly yours
GEORGE C. HAWKINS
