I have desig- nated you for this new intornational command which embraces a large area under the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. I an informed that the Standing Group of the North Atlantic Troaty Organization will issue a directive to you concerning your responsibilities and authority as the Supre ne Allied Commander, Atlantic. xw.c, You are hereby assigned operational com- mand, of the United States Armed Forces assigned to the U.
