My dear Mr. Secretary:
I am referring to you a letter, dated
July 9, 1952, which I have received from Mrs.
Esther c. Brunauer, who has been discharged
from the Department of State as a security risk.
Some of Mrs. Brunauer's comments on the
handling of her loyalty-security case would give
me considerable concern if what she says is accurate.

I am very much interested in these matters, as you
know, and I would appreciate your personal views
regarding Mrs. Brunauer's dismissal and the remarks
contained in her letter.
Very sincerely yours,
sgd) HARRY S. TRUMAD
The Honorable
The Secretary of State x20
