to 2019 WHEREAS, the United States Govornment has repudiated the United Nations decision of November 29, 1947, to partion Palestine into separate Arab and Jevish States; and WHEREAS, this gallous reversal of polioy constituted an act of betrayal sinoe it violates the traditional Amerioan poliey on Palestine as states by two Congressional Resolutions on Palestine, repudiates the pledges of both major American politioal parties, and reneges on the partition decision of the United Nations - a decision which was brought about largely as a result of the decisive role played by our Government; and WHERFAS, in its regent statement of revereal the United Bovern- ment has committed an act of appeasement by bowing to the intimidation of thoge Arab stateswhich have flouted the will d the United Nations on the Palestine decision; and WHEREAS, by thrusting aside the judgment of the General Assembly of the United Nations, the United States Government has struck a shattering blov at the future effectiveness of the Uhited Nations as an International instrument for preserving and maintaining the peace and security of the world; and WHEREAS, the hundreds of thousands of Jewa atill languiehing in the Die- placed Persons Campa of Europe have bsen cruelly disillusioned by the very nation to which they looked for dalvation, and WHEREAS, the new United States proposal for a trustesship oan only serve to agstavate the situntion in Palestine and increase tension and bloodshed in that country; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that VEZIONIST ORGANIZATION OF AMERICA ELLENVILLE DISTRICT do hereby exprees our desp indignation and sense of out- rage over this act of betrayal by the Administration of President Truman. AND BE IT RESOLVED that ve oall upon the President to revoke this action immediately, lest our Government be guilty of undermining the United Nations. AND BE IT FURTRER REBOLVED that ve ¿ZIONIST ORGANIZATION OF AMERICA ELLENVILLE DISTRICT hereby express our solidarity with the Jeve of Palestine in any netion that they may take to carry our the decision of the General Assembly of the United Nations. AND BE IT FINALLY PESOLVED that copies of thie resolution be aent immed- intely to President Harry 5. Truman, Secretary of State George c.
