MEMORANDUM FOR MR. CONNELLY:
I talked with General Edgerton about
this memorandum to you. Since the acceptance
of new applications under the White House
memento program closed on September 30, 1951,
General Edgerton decided not to re-open the
matter and will so inform the Board of Com-
missioners of the District of Columbia.

Memo to Mr. Connelly, 11-27-51, from Gen. Edgerton, Commission on
Renovation of the Exec. Mansion
Commission has recd request from District Commissioners for allocation
of enough material remaining from White House memento program to
make 50 to 100 gavels to be presented by the Board to distinguished
visitors to D.C Proposed presentations would be cleared in advance
with White House. Gen. Edgerton asks for advice.
