Whereas, The American Legion has always had as one of its
objectives to foster and perpetuate a 100% Amer-
icanism and to safe guard our liberties and free-
dom as opposed to any form of compulsion and reg-
imentation and
Whereas ,
there is now before the Congress of the United
States the question of Compulsory Health Insur-
ance which is in itself a threat to our freedom,
now
Therefore,
be it resolved that the American Legion Auxiliary
Unit to Wasmer Post #241, Le Mars Iowa in their
regular meeting assembled Dec 8th ,1949 go on
record as opposing any form of Compulsory Health
Insurance or controlled medicine
#
Further
that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the
President of the United States , to each Senator,
from the State of Iowa and the Representative from
our District , and that said Senators and Represent.
tative are hereby respectfully requested to use every
effort at their command to prevent the enactmant of
such legislation.
