JASPER COUNTY, MISSOURI Webh Uity, Alissouri 3-B Jan 14 1950 Xia JAN 31 1950° mise Mr.Donald S.Dawson Administrative Assistant to the President Washington D.C. Dear Mr. Dawson: I wish to thank you for your letter of the 9th concerning the Census matter. I most sincerely appreciate your interest in the matter. Altho I addressed my first communication to Mr. Boyle, giving him a true and detailed account of the situation and requesting an investigation, several weeks ago and have written his since, I have had no word from him. The matter created such a furor here that I was compelled by the newspapers to make a statement. I gave them the true story. I understand that General Vaughn denies all connection but that does not do away with the letter Mrs Edwards exhibited. In my opinion it is of considerable importance to all concerned that this matter be settled quickly and in a sraightforward honest manner. Again I want to thank you and remain yours very truly, Chairman. ARGKIVIE RECORDS NATIONAM Aap RECEIVE D JAN 17 1950 DONALD S. DAWSON
